Look Ma, No Hands!

Woohoo!  Calan is a superstar!  He is a mover and a shaker now. At first, we were just keeping him on the carpeted areas of the house so he was somewhat protected against unwanted injuries. However, his curiosity gets the best of him and he was dying to see the other parts of the house he's not allowed on. Our house is mainly tiled with just the bedrooms carpeted. So, I got so worried when he would crawl on the tile floors.  He's had one too many wacks directly on the tile.  We try to limit the ER trips around here.

So, obviously the next step was some kind of protection. Calan is still building muscle tone in his body and is weak on the lower half of his body.  He loses his balance the majority of the time and falls often. Our favorite physical therapist gave us this helmet for him to wear while he's at home. This made me VERY happy as he has already had a multitude of spills and NO INJURIES!!  YEA!

We are so blessed to have caring, wonderful people in Calan's life that think of his safety. He is super lucky. And do you want to know the best part? He really LOVES his helmet. Whenever we bring it out, he knows exactly what that means, that he gets to crawl all over the house.  He screams with excitment and giggles with delight at the mere site of this foam helmet and we couldn't be happier.

Here he is in all his glory:

He's his daddy's boy. Jody squealed and giggled every time he saw his football helmet too.
