A day in the life of...

a baby that is more sick than he is healthy. A valuable lesson we learned: do not have a baby at the beginning of cold and flu season! On top of dealing with this for the first three months of his life, we have recently been dealing with the diagnosis of this and this. Beyond his every day battles, our little boy has had a chronic cough due to severe congestion from back to back to back colds since he was born. After he was put in daycare, he's had cold after cold. Even after a trip to the ER, nothing has really been able to ease his daily battle of wheezing, congestion, etc. After a dose of steroids for the chronic cough, we do this...

nebulizer treatments...

for fifteen minutes...

every single day...

our version of hell.

because it takes us back to the three months of colic we experienced for the first three months.
Luckily, this too shall pass. Hopefully when Spring is in full bloom.
But we love our sickie.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! Poor little man. I hope the coughs subside, soon. Has there been talk of an asthma diagnosis? The symptoms seem classic to me....

I'm sorry for Calan and for all of you! We have to give Landon breathing treatments also - 4 times a day. His comes & goes...we do it for a few weeks then it goes away for a few, then we do it again (he's 16 months old now). The dr has said perhaps asthma or just bad allergies. It does get better - he does better with us reading to him or putting on a little DVD or playing peek-a-boo! It's tough though!!!
