CALAN'S TWO WEEKS OLD!

Breakthrough: Yesterday, Calan had a busy day! We started out the day dropping by to see everyone at Curves. It was really good to see everyone but it was cut short because the little man had to eat again. He is eating every two hours during the day so he really let us know that it was getting that time again. Luckily, I had a bottle of pumped milk we could give him on the way to his two week check-up! His doctor's appointment went really great. Here's the breakdown:

8/12/08: 6 lb. 14 oz. and 20.5 inches
8/15/08: 6 lb. 3 oz. and 19 inches (yikes!)
8/25/08: 7lb. 0 oz. and 20.25 inches (yeah!)

He has gained weight since our last doctor's visit so everything is going great. He got another heel prick and he didn't like that too much. But it was over before we knew it and he got wrapped up tight and fell asleep. Now, if the doctor could just fix his mixup with his days and nights, that would be even more wonderful!

Later that day we went to Jody's work and he was so exhausted from the doctor's visit that he was asleep through all the compliments he got! We were so happy he was sleeping that we wouldn't dare move him from his carseat. :) Maybe next visit we will pass him around.

We decided that when Jody got off work that we would try to attempt our trip to Wal-Mart again. He really needed a swing so we were bound and determined to get him one. We were smart and this time fed him before going and what do you know - he fell asleep through the whole trip and we were able to get him a swing! Also, later that night -- we had another breakthrough. He finally gave Mommy a break and slept from 11pm to 3:30am! I was so excited so wake up to his screaming and to look over at the clock to see that he slept 4.5 hours straight! We should be so lucky if tonight he does the same thing...

Calan starts out all wrapped up and snuggled in his blankets. And then a few minutes later we find him like this...

K did the same thing with his blankets!! We ended up just putting socks on him so that when he kicked out of the blankets, his feet were still covered. He still does not sleep with a blanket. Granted, that might change when winter comes!
