Calan is a very hard worker.
He "works out" 2x week now.
He is beginning to like it instead of crying for an hour.
You can see his determination all over his face.
He doesn't even know what a little hero he is.
As you all know, he was born with very little tone in his body.
He has to build up his tone from the top down.
Physical Therapy is his lifeline to becoming mobile.
He started PT around 8 months old.
It has allowed him to reach these milestones so far:
Hold his head up @ 9 months
Sit on his own @ 15 months
Lift a Sippy Cup to His Mouth @ 17 months
Go from tummy to sitting position @ 21 months
Now we are working on building his tone in his midsection
so he can learn to crawl!
Here are some of the exercises:
Working on building hamstring/calf muscle tone.
Working on balance.
Working on balance and overall tone build-up.
Building up those hamstrings once again!
Teaching him the movements of crawling for muscle memory.
Almost there!
It usually takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes
to get him across the mat.
He pushes through tears almost every time.
We love him so much.
We are so proud of where he's going.
Can't wait to see what's next.
He's kicking cerebral palsy's butt!
